In order to define ourselves as a whole we must first enlight you with the true definition of "Excello". Excello, according to any given Latin dictionary is "to rise above of"; "to excel"; "to surpass" and from this we can understand that "Excello" is not something that you can simply BE, because it's simply not something static. The word "excello" means movement by itself, it's something continuous that cannot be grabbed, surrounded or completly defined. From it's meaning we have developed several similar words during centuries like "excel" from the common english or "excelent". Also, and to help you understand our purpose and our meaning, we'll be quoting M. Edward Krenson, from the Randolph School, when he tried to grab the true meaning of the word "excellence". From his studies we can understand that true excellence has more to do with causes than effects. Furthermore, it's a condition produced by seven diferent factors. Authenticity, credibility, functionality, competency, synchronicity, expectancy and continuity. It's from the 6th and 7th factor that we can leach our true purpose and meaning. Excellence is the highest level of expectation that someone is capable of manifesting for itself at a given point in time. Also, and more importantly, as Aristotle once said "Excellence is not an act, it's a habit" and it's this "continuous progressive movement into the future" that defines the word "Excello", defining all of us along with it. Either way, and moving on to real explanations, it all began when *pheer* decided it was time for him to quit playing Unreal Tournament. The game was dead, in terms of competitions and clans and the thing that made him tick was the competition of it all. Also, and at the same time, *outlaw* felt a little bit bored with Urban Terror and RTCW: ET. It all happened like a brainburst. Both of them wanted more and more challenges and both wanted a project of their own. A project where they could define class both inside and off the pitch. Where they could truly excel. Both of them decided to play Counter-Strike simply because it was the game with the larger comunity. Also, it's one of the games with one of the smallest learning curves. Which made everything simpler. *Silver* and *hob* showed some will to still play in the same clan with *pheer* and with it began the Ut2k4 division and thus, the new project was no longer a Counter-Strike clan, it was a Multi-Gaming one. With so many skilled and experienced players our goals became immediatly clear: to reach the top. Both class and gamewise. Team Excello: defining excellence! |
